Jai Menon
Advisory Board + Investment Committee Member
Jai Menon is an Advisory Board Member of PanCosmic Capital and part of the Investment Committee.
Jai currently serves as the Chief Scientist and Chief Science Officer at Fungible (www.fungible.com), a Data Processing Unit solution provider, founded by Pradeep Sindhu (founding CTO of Juniper) which has raised more than $300M since inception in 2015.
Previously, Jai served as CTO for multi billion dollar System businesses (Servers, Storage, Networking) at both IBM and Dell. At IBM, Jai was CTO of the $20B IBM Systems Group and guided a team of 15,000 developers. He was the recipient of the firm’s highest technical honor – IBM Fellow.
After IBM, Jai joined Dell as VP and CTO for the $15B Dell Enterprise Solutions Group and thereafter was appointed as Head of Research and Chief Research Officer for Dell.
Jai has previously advised companies such as Bitfusion (acq. by Vmware), DatosIO (acq. by Rubrik) and Cloudistics (acq. by Fungible).
Jai holds 53 patents, has published 82 papers and is a recipient of the IEEE Wallace McDowell Award and the IEEE Reynold B. Johnson Information System Award.
In his free time, Jai likes to read, travel (his most exciting recent trip was gorilla trekking in the Bwindi Forest in Uganda) , watch sports (he saw the 2016 NBA final where his favorite team lost, and he has seen a test match at the hallowed grounds at Lords, the home of cricket) and, most unusually, walk his cat!
